Stroke Faculty
The Department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking an ABPN certified/eligible academic Vascular Neurologist to join the Stroke Division and the faculty of Harvard Medical School at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor level.
The successful candidate should be clinically active and have a local, national or international reputation as an expert in Vascular Neurology. An ideal candidate should have an established research interest and track record of leadership in stroke. Although substantial direct clinical, teaching and research experience would be advantageous, less experienced candidates with exceptional promise will also be considered.
The candidate will play a prominent role in the continuum of stroke care (Acute Stroke/Telestroke consultations, inpatient, outpatient, applied stroke research/clinical stroke trials). The candidate will have an opportunity to participate in the programmatic leadership and to work closely with the ACGME-accredited Vascular Neurology fellows and the Harvard Neurology Residents.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation as a clinician and an established commitment to academics and teaching. Daily responsibilities will include clinical care and education of medical students, residents and fellows. Leadership opportunities in administration of the MGH Comprehensive Stroke Center and Acute Stroke Program will be available to the candidate with appropriate level of expertise and experience.
Appointment at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements. In addition, it is expected that the candidate will engage in teaching in the Harvard community with a minimum of 50 hours required per year. Suitable candidates will have MD or MD-PhD degrees.
