 Cardiovascular Branch

 

The Division of Intramural Research (DIR) of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) is recruiting a Staff Clinician with expertise in cardiac PET perfusion imaging to establish a cardiac perfusion positron emission tomography (PET) imaging program at the NIH Clinical Center. The position is located in the Laboratory of Inflammation and Cardiometabolic Diseases within the Cardiovascular Branch. Responsibilities include supervision of staff and interpretation of myocardial PET perfusion studies, clinical trials oversight, incumbent will be responsible for reporting on study conduct, and be expected to compile and analyze scientific data for publication. Research interests in the Laboratory of Inflammation and Cardiometabolic Diseases are focused on inflammatory atherogenesis and microvascular dysfunction. In addition, this position offers exceptional opportunities for collaboration with cardiac MR and CT specialists within the Cardiovascular Branch, and numerous interdisciplinary studies with other institutes in the Clinical Research Center including multiple studies in the area of cardio-oncology.

 

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Director of the Laboratory of Inflammation and Cardiometabolic Diseases. The faculty in the NHLBI DIR is an outstanding group of internationally recognized biomedical researchers covering a wide range of basic and clinical research topics (please see https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/about/divisions/division-intramural-research). The successful candidate should have experience in cardiac PET perfusion imaging, multi-modality cardiovascular imaging, clinical trials design and conduct, quantitative data analysis, and regulatory aspects of clinical research and translational research with aspirations to transition to an independent research program. Applicants must have an M.D., have completed training in Cardiovascular Diseases, Cardiovascular Imaging and be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Diseases and Nuclear Cardiology. Salary is commensurate with clinical and research experience.

 

Appointees may be US citizens, resident aliens, or non-resident aliens with or eligible to obtain a valid employment authorized visa. However, the candidate must be licensed in the United States and must be able to obtain a Maryland Medical License.
