The Opportunity

  • National physician leader responsible for, and bridging, Vituity clinical leadership culture, engagement, and satisfaction across all contracted sites within Outpatient Medicine
  • \n\t
  • Responsible for CEO and C-Suite satisfaction
  • \n\t
  • Understand health system value-based care strategies and their outpatient positions
  • \n\t
  • Foster strong relationships with hospital leadership teams for expanded opportunities
  • \n\t
  • Design and implement initiatives that drive quarterly quality performance targets
  • \n\t
  • Present new innovations and programs to current clients to enhance existing relationships
  • \n\t
  • Serve as medical “face” of the Health System Outpatient Medicine practice line and participates in external thought leadership, contributing to public statements, and marketing efforts
  • \n\t
  • Build organizational and personal brand equity externally, within industry
  • \n\t
  • Stay atop competitor positions and national health system strategies
  • \n\t
  • Define pragmatic goals, design strategies to achieve them, and execute plans that can be implemented across multiple markets
  • \n\t
  • Work with Vituity Practice Management staff and VPs in negotiations of managed care contracts as needed
  • \n\t
  • Provide guidance on clinical strategy across practice line
  • \n\t
  • Facilitate Integration between different practice lines and participate in site startup process
  • \n\t
  • Seek innovative clinical practice solutions or technologies to scale or optimize performance
  • \n\t
  • Hold Medical Directors accountable for site finances, ensuring all sites are solvent, and manage Debt forgiveness when applicable
  • \n\t
  • Manage the contract negotiation process with existing sites via Renewal Process
  • \n\t
  • Joint accountability with the System Client champion (if available) to ensure good relationships; ensuring that we are meeting/exceeding expectations, and incentive alignment
  • \n\t
  • Monitor and intervene when appropriate on matters of client, medical staff, and hospital staff conflict/problems to ensure network success
  • \n\t
  • Responsibility for defining, implementing, measuring, and promoting Vituity best practices for every outpatient medicine provider to achieve optimal performance and ensure contract stability
  • \n\t
  • Monitors site contributions and organization subsidies
  • \n\t
  • Optimize operational, quality, and provider satisfaction performance through objectives and key results
  • \n\t
  • Accountable for meeting organizational goals
  • \n\t
  • Promote Vituity’s culture, mission, values, culture, and democratic principles across all sites
  • \n\t
  • Work with Partnership affairs and CPAC on provider related issues and concerns
  • \n\t
  • Facilitate new business where and when appropriate, alongside VPs and Growth teams
  • \n\t
  • Demonstrate strong leadership that sponsors and mentor Medical Directors
  • \n\t
  • Counsel, restrict or remove an underperforming Medical Director
  • \n\t
  • Meet with Medical Directors regularly and monitor high risk and new sites monthly
  • \n\t
  • Investigate and address Partner and provider complaints and issues within OM Division
  • \n\t
  • Ensuring appropriate recruiting, onboarding, education, and training of Medical Directors
  • \n\t
  • Participates in updating training materials
  • \n\t
  • Ensure adequate staffing and proper management of contingency staffing
  • \n\t
  • Assume responsibility for any Medical Director in an emergency
  • \n\t
  • Leadership education and training and supplies potential candidates to leadership pipeline
  • \n\t
  • Occasionally participates in Divisional meetings with all practice lines
  • \n\t
  • Engages in RD meetings and initiatives and contributes content for Vituity meetings
  • \n\t
  • Support senior residents’ day
  • \n\t
  • Support New Partner Orientation (NPO) program
  • \n
\n\n

Required Experience and Competencies

\n\n
    \n\t
  • Board Certification required
  • \n\t
  • At least five years of exemplary clinical practice is required
  • \n\t
  • Extensive experience and reputation as an administrative partner or equivalent in a large medical group practice (medical directorship, committee chair or regional directorship)
  • \n\t
  • Deep understanding of urgent care and primary care settings, in particular, how Health Systems are implementing Value Based Care strategies
  • \n\t
  • Strong acumen of Outpatient Medicine in broader industry trends related to Health System OM strategy, including competitive positioning, market share, and how business is impacted
  • \n\t
  • Exceptional leadership skills capable of moving the practice line to adopt novel programs
  • \n\t
  • Participate in national associations and viewed as a Key Opinion Leader in industry
  • \n\t
  • Familiarity with federal and state laws and regulations affecting hospitals and medical group practice
  • \n\t
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, relationship building, and presentation skills on a national level
  • \n\t
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • \n\t
  • Success improving key performance and quality metrics in practice line
  • \n\t
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation, financial, and contract analysis
  • \n\t
  • Management experience preferably at the medical director and organizational program management level
  • \n\t
  • Attendance at conferences relevant to the healthcare industry and job requirements
  • \n\t
  • Some travel required
