The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts is offering a one-year fellowship in Lymphatic Surgery

Description: The fellowship will provide clinical training to treat patients presenting with lymphedema. The fellow will work with the multi-disciplinary team at the Boston Lymphatic Center to become adept at diagnosis and pre-operative evaluation of these patients including the ability to perform and interpret indocyanine green lymphographies. The fellow will participate in the full gambit of immediate lymphatic reconstructive operations (e.g. lymphovenous bypass for prevention) and delayed lymphatic reconstructive operations (e.g. lymph node transplantations, lymphovenous bypass, and debulking procedures). While the fellowship will focus on lymphatic surgery, the fellow will also have exposure to the full gambit of breast reconstructive procedures including oncoplastic breast surgery, implant and autologous based breast reconstruction (e.g. DIEP flaps). The fellow will have the opportunity to simultaneously work in an NIH funded laboratory studying lymphatic anatomy. The Boston Lymphatic Center is a Comprehensive Center of Excellence for Lymphatic Care.

Qualifications: It is expected that candidates will have completed their plastic surgery residency in an ACGME –accredited program in the United States or the equivalent if applying from abroad.
