The University of Rochester Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine seeks a dynamic leader for the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Chief of Anesthesia Services for Golisano Children’s Hospital. The successful candidate will be a BC Pediatric Anesthesiologist with fellowship training and significant experience as an academic anesthesiologist. Applicants should be eligible for an appointment as Associate or full Professor at the University of Rochester, and have strong organizational and interpersonal skills that will enable him/her to be a successful leader. Subspecialty training in pediatric cardiac anesthesia, solid organ transplant and/or pediatric pain medicine is a plus. The pediatric anesthesia group is home to twelve fellowship-trained pediatric anesthesiologists providing service for over 10,000 cases annually including general surgery, neurosurgery, urology, orthopedics, trauma, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, oral surgery, and the only Western NY center offering pediatric cardiac surgery, pediatric renal transplantation and a fledgling pediatric hepatic transplantation program. Opportunities exist to provide care outside the pediatric OR, including our busy ambulatory surgery center and numerous out-of-OR locations. The division has a successful fellowship with 1 position annually that has been filled with excellent candidates every year since accreditation.

Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong employs more than 200 pediatric specialists, serving more than 85,000 children and their families each year. It serves as the referral center for all seriously ill or injured children from the 17 county Finger Lakes region and beyond. By the numbers: 124 beds, the largest pediatric ICU in western and central NY, only Level IV NICU in the region, first children’s hospital in the country with an integrated PET/MRI.
