The Division of Developmental Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital seeks a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician to serve as the Co-Director of the Autism Spectrum Center. The mission of the Autism Spectrum Center is to provide a timely single point of access to excellent, culturally competent, multi-disciplinary care for all children with ASD and their families.  The Autism Spectrum Center employs a coordinated and collaborative approach among the participating departments and divisions to develop and implement patient-centered services that are consistent for all children with ASD who receive care at Boston Children’s Hospital. The Autism Spectrum Center also includes a wide range of basic, clinical and translational research activities.

 

In addition, the successful candidate would be expected to provide outpatient diagnostic and treatment services in the Developmental Medicine Center (DMC) within the Division of Developmental Medicine. The DMC is one of the largest clinical programs for the diagnosis and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders in the world, and is dedicated to promoting research, teaching, and service innovations designed to improve the lives of children, adolescents, and families. The DMC provides services for youth from infancy through adolescence who present with complex neurodevelopmental disorders including autism spectrum disorders, medical and genetic conditions, intellectual disabilities, and learning, attentional, and behavioral disorders. The DMC has a large, well-developed clinical research infrastructure and an extensive portfolio of ongoing extramurally funded studies. Active participation in clinical and/or basic research is strongly supported and encouraged for applicants with research training and experience. All members of the faculty actively participate in the education of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics fellows, psychology post-doctoral fellows and Harvard Medical School students.
 

Applicants must possess a Massachusetts medical license prior to assuming the position, be board certified in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, and preferably have ten or more years of relevant experience which includes a strong academic record and history of leadership in developmental behavioral pediatrics. Academic appointments are offered at Harvard Medical School at a level commensurate with clinical and research experience.
