The Department of Pediatrics at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, Mineola, NY, has an opening for a full-time Developmental- Behavioral Chief position. 

In this role, the successful candidate will work closely with parents, families, and schools to evaluate and treat patients who experience ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Adjustment disorders, Anxiety disorders, and other developmental and behavioral difficulties. The candidate will also assess developmental delays in our NICU follow-up clinic with a team of professionals, as well as provide assessments and guidance in our bi-monthly Down Syndrome clinic.

Additional responsibilities include organizing and leading a one-month long Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics rotation for our first-year residents (ACGME requirement II.B.1.b)(1).(c). This program must include treating patients with developmental and/or behavioral diagnoses as well as didactic sessions on issues involving autism, ADHD, and other common problems.

The candidate will be involved in teaching the NYU Long Island School of Medicine medical students — both lecturing and precepting in the MESH (medical student humanism health happiness program) and SHEP (social sciences humanities ethics and professionalism program) experiences.

The candidate must have an MD or DO degree, be board certified in Pediatrics, and be board certified or board eligible in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics.
