The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis School of
Medicine is recruiting for one full-time position in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series at the Associate Professor or Professor level in the to lead our existing group of advanced endoscopists with the goal of developing an nationally-recognized program. The position will be dedicated to growing a regional referral base and directing the Advanced Endoscopy practice while providing outstanding patient care and education in the area of advanced endoscopy. Additional responsibilities will include educating fellows and working with current faculty to improve upon the current curriculum of the Advanced Endoscopy fellowship.

The Division currently includes 16 full-time faculty and 2 nurse practitioners. Referrals come from within an extensive primary care network, active colorectal and hepatobiliary services, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, and from the surrounding region. In addition to inpatient consultative services, the Division has clinics and outpatient endoscopy units at 4 locations throughout the greater Sacramento region including a new and expansive clinic with 4 outpatient endoscopy suites. A new endoscopy unit at the UC Davis Medical Center will open in 2021 and include 4 dedicated rooms for advanced procedures.

The successful candidate is expected to have training and experience in advanced endoscopy including a minimum of 4 years post-fellowship
training experience in a high-volume advanced endoscopy practice. Competence in endoscopic mucosal resection, EUS, and ERCP and demonstrated excellence in teaching are required. A track record of research productivity is highly desirable. Candidate must have an MD degree and must be BC/BE in Gastroenterology and eligible for a California medical license. Rank will be commensurate with candidate’s qualifications and experience. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
