The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical School is presently recruiting for a Service Chief for the Adult Reconstructive Service (lower extremity arthroplasty service).  The successful candidate will have leadership experience, along with a strong academic focus.  Besides patient care, specific duties also include teaching medical students, house officers and fellows and conducting/participating in clinical outcomes research. The ideal candidate will be Fellowship trained with an interest in resident and fellow education, as well as clinical research and scholarly activity.  Additional opportunities to work with the affiliated VA service and/or with our existing arthroplasty registry (Michigan Arthroplasty Registry Collaborative Quality Initiative) are also possible.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates should possess an M.D./D.O. and be board certified or eligible for certification; completed specialty fellowship training in hip and knee reconstruction surgery; hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan; demonstrate outstanding teaching and clinical care abilities; have associated research interests; and should have interest in clinical outcome studies.

Underfill Statement:

This position is posted as Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Professor.  The rank of the selected candidate will depend on qualifications.
