Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Division Chief

UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital


 

The Congenital Heart Collaborative (TCHC), an affiliation between University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital (RBCH, Cleveland OH) and Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Columbus OH) heart programs, seeks candidates at any professorial rank to be the RBCH Division Chief of Cardiothoracic Intensive Care. Qualified candidates must have formal training in both pediatric cardiac intensive care and board certification in either pediatric critical care medicine or pediatric cardiology. Candidates with dual board certification and with more than five years of experience in medical and postoperative management of complex congenital heart disease including adults are preferred. The chief whose administrative matrix is to both the TCHC leadership and RBCH pediatric department chair, will have the opportunity to formulate a comprehensive strategic plan for the CTICU designed to optimize clinical outcome, patient/family experience, and support the educational and academic mission of the university. She/he will set CTICU management standards, oversee faculty and personnel recruitment, establish quality goals, and liaison with other RBCH Heart Center leaders in anesthesiology, cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, critical care medicine, nurse practitioner and nursing, and others to enhance the national reputation of our heart program.

 

The successful candidate will be well-supported at a world-class children’s hospital with over 60 years of experience in the care of pediatric and adult congenital heart disease patients; an outstanding educational and research enterprise at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and an internationally recognized program partner with the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Heart Center. TCHC is a dedicated service line with a common executive administration and functions as one program on two campuses with the commitment to expand access to high-quality comprehensive cardiac care regardless of patient age to the communities we serve while equally embracing a scholarly and educational mission. TCHC provide excellent cardiothoracic surgical, cardiac interventional, electrophysiologic, and non-invasive services.
