Diagnose & treat patients w/ rheumatological diseases including systemic lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, systemic vasculitis, Behcets disease, & seronegative spondyloarthritis as well as
osteoarthritis & crystal-induced diseases including gout & myositis. Oversee rheumatology consult service for in-patient wards. Manage patients’ use of immunosuppressive medications for rheumatological diseases. Prescribe, administer, & manage patients’ medical treatments including corticosteroids, TNF inhibitors, azathioprine, methotrexate, rituximab, jelzanz, plasmapheresis & IL-1 inhibitors. Provide teaching & instruction to medical students & physicians in training.

Requirements

 

Req’s: Doctor of Medicine or foreign equiv plus two-yr
fellowship in rheumatology. Rheumatology fellowship clinical
training must have included diagnosing & treating patients w/
rheumatological diseases including systemic lupus, rheumatoid
arthritis, systemic vasculitis, Behcets disease, & seronegative
spondyloarthritis as well as osteoarthritis & crystal-induced
diseases including gout & myositis. Must be eligible for Medical

License with NY State Board of Medicine & have passed FLEX
examination or equiv (i.e. NMBE III or USMLE III).
