Columbia University, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology seek scientist to lead the analysis of large-scale data projects. Applicants who have a research focus in clinical trial designs and inferences (e.g., basket/SMART designs), causal inference, high-dimensional data, health outcome research/electronic health record, or machine learning are encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will be expected to closely collaborate with researchers, while continuing to develop methodological research in their area of interest. In addition, successful candidates will have opportunities to get involved in educational activities, including teaching and mentoring graduate students.

Performs basic or applied research in an area of considerable scope and complexity. Plans independent research, analyzes, and publishes the results. Prepares grant proposals. The incumbent will play an integral role in the analysis of data. The analyst will analyze data from large-scale data sets as well as collect, enter and analyze clinical data using statistical software.  Develop and apply statistical theories and methods to organize, interpret and summarize clinical data to provide information.  Conduct clinical investigation and/or other research.  Generate reports; contribute to the decision for optimal study design and the proper use of statistical methodologies for studies.  Design small pilot studies to estimate statistical parameters for future studies.  Design and validate analysis data sets and preparation of study proposals and grant applications

Attends meetings and may present research.

Minimum Degree Required        

MD and/or PhD or comparable degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a closely related field.


Minimum Qualifications:

Doctorate degree required. Expertise in SAS.  Prior experience with analysis of large data sets.  Requires strong interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication, computer skills; team player capable of working in dynamic group environment.
