ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR, TERM TENURE

 

DEPARTMENT OF CARDIOLOGY

The Department of Cardiology is seeking a board-certified cardiologist with clinical expertise and a track record of active clinical or translational research experience to direct a clinical research program in Cardiology at the Associate Professor or Professor level. This term tenure position will be supported by institutional resources to develop a first-class clinical research program focused on cardiac disorders in cancer patients. The institution also has significant clinical research resources, including a Phase-I clinical trials center and a large clinical translational research center. This position offers unique opportunities to interact with other clinical investigators in the Texas Medical Center. Successful candidate will have a history of extramural funding and successfully mentoring fellows and junior faculty. A highly competitive salary and start-up package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Department consists of 17 faculty (14 cardiologists and 3 basic scientists) with a cardiac clinical fellowship program providing comprehensive cardiac care to patients in an internationally renowned Cancer Center with special emphasis on new anti-cancer therapy-induced cardiotoxicity. A diagnostic cardiac cath/EP lab, as well as a very busy echocardiography lab, are on site to provide support for clinical research projects.
