The Department of Plastic Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center invites applicants for a faculty appointment at the rank of associate professor. This faculty position provides clinical and research expertise in reconstructive, plastic and microvascular surgery for cancer patients. The incumbent in this position must engage in academic research (clinical, translational or basic science) and provide an appropriate teaching environment for fellows, residents and other trainees in Plastic Surgery.

The incumbent in this faculty position should also have significant expertise in the surgical treatment of lymphedema to include lymphovenous bypass and vascularized lymph node transplantation and have funded research in the surgical treatment of lymphedema. This position reports to Charles E. Butler, M.D., Chairman of Plastic Surgery.

A successful candidate must be a graduate of an accredited medical school with a medical degree or the equivalent of an M.D.; must have completed a residency training program in plastic surgery; be board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery or equivalent board and be eligible for licensure in the State of Texas. Candidates should have significant exposure to or experience in microvascular surgery in oncology patients. Candidates who have completed a formal microsurgery fellowship and have CPRIT funded research are preferred. Salary is in the $697,000 to $777,000 range and is based upon the applicant qualifications.
