The Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Vice Chair of Diversity and Inclusion to provide strategic vision and leadership in the Department for the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs that enhance the recruitment, development and retention of underrepresented minority trainees into our residency program as well as fellows and faculty members in the Department. The Vice Chair of Diversity will also collaborate with school-wide programs and other institutional partners to align Department planning with School and Medical Center goals and objectives to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion. We are looking for an academic physician with a track record of research success as well as exemplary leadership, administrative, and mentoring skills who can be a results-oriented catalyst for change.

Substantial resources have been made available by the Chair of the Department of Medicine to advance our mission of maintaining an inclusive climate for faculty, trainees, and patients. The successful candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment in creating durable cultural change through education, awareness, community engagement and evidence based innovation.
