The Epilepsy Center of the Neurological Institute at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is searching for a neurologist with a sub specialization in epileptology. The Epilepsy Center is a Tier 4 (National Association of Epilepsy Centers) clinical and academic epilepsy center with a world renowned faculty that is particularly well known in the fields of surgical epilepsy, electrical source imaging in epilepsy, epilepsy epidemiology and epilepsy informatics. All Epilepsy Center staff hold academic positions at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and have extremely close links with CWRU Neurosciences, the School of Medicine and CWRU Biomedical Engineering where the Center collaborates on a number of basic science projects. The Center also runs a bi-annual Epilepsy Course with national and international attendees. Responsibilities of the incumbent will include active participation in the clinical, educational and research programs of the epilepsy center. Academic career ambition is strongly encouraged. Early career mentorship will be provided wherever appropriate.

The ideal candidate should have completed a neurology residency and should have at least one year fellowship training in a recognized epilepsy center. Experience in the evaluation and management of epilepsy patients who are candidates for epilepsy surgery and in intra-operative monitoring are pre-requisites. The candidate should be accomplished in clinical care, research and education in epileptology. Faculty appointments at Case Western Reserve University will be at any level, commensurate with experience and credentials. Qualifications for Instructor include one or more years of epilepsy/neurophysiology fellowship. BE/BC in neurology. Qualifications for Assistant Professor include one or more years of epilepsy/neurophysiology post-fellowship experience. The candidate should be BE/BC in neurology. BC in neurophysiology preferred. Qualifications for Associate Professor or higher include one or more years of epilepsy/neurophysiology post fellowship experience with suitable track record of publications and/or successful grant applications. BE/BC in neurology. BC in neurophysiology preferred. Mid to senior level experience in epilepsy surgery neurophysiology and intra-operative monitoring is highly desirable.
